Cruise along the Longest River in sabah

Put on your life jacket and start river cruising along Kinabatangan River in search for wildlife. We will be cruising to one of the tributaries of the Kinabatangan River called Sungai Menanggol for wildlife viewing during Sunset, which is when wild is at its most active behavior. Search for the Proboscis Monkey, the most famous attraction called the“Biggest Nose of Borneo”. A trip down the Kinabatangan River almost certainly guarantees you several sightings of this large yet surprisingly graceful primate, as it flings itself forcefully from tree to tree, or watches you lazily from a comfortable lofty branch. Others animal such as the wild Orang Utan, Snakes, Birds, Long and Pig Tail Macaque, Silver Leaf Monkey and if you are lucky you might see the Wild Borneo Pygmy Elephants.

Day Trip

Depart from Sepilok Forest Edge Resort. The journey will take approximately 2 hours drive and passing through rustic countryside and oil palm plantations.

Continue your journey to Bilit by the Kinabatangan River. At 1600 hours, river cruise in search of wildlife that is so prevalent in the area – a good chance to see proboscis monkey, orang utan, macaques, pygmy elephants, birds and other wildlife. An early dinner will be served at the lodge. After dinner, return to Sandakan and drop off at Sandakan Airport or at your respective hotel.

Day 1: Sandakan/Bilit/ Kinabatangan River (Dinner)
Afternoon, you will be pick up at your respective hotel and adjourns to Bilit by the Kinabatangan River and then on to Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort. Upon arrival at the resort, you will be greeted by our team and refreshment will be served followed by briefing featuring the overview of the resort routes & safety. Check in to your room (Cottage Chalet).

At 1600 hours, river cruise in search of wildlife that is so prevalent in the area – a good chance to see proboscis monkey, orang utan, macaques, pygmy elephants, birds and other wildlife. Return to the resort. Dinner will be served. After dinner and subject to weather conditions, follow our in-house naturalist for a night walk in search of nocturnal mammals though this is an optional activities which is separately charged from this package. Return to and overnight at the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.

Day 2: Kinabatangan River / Sandakan (Breakfast)
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbill. Proceed for an early morning cruise along the Kinabatangan River to observe more wildlife and birdlife. Return to resort for breakfast. Check out and depart for your return journey to Sandakan. Drop off at your respective hotel in Sandakan or at the Sandakan Airport for your onwards flight.

Day 2: Bilit / Jungle Trekking-within Resort area / Kinabatangan River (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Proceed for an early morning cruise to observe more wildlife and birdlife. Return to resort for breakfast. After breakfast, follow in house Guide for Jungle trekking within resort area. Return to the resort for lunch. Late afternoon, set off for another river adventure and try to spot more wildlife and birds before returning to the resort for dinner. Retire for the night at the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.

Day 3: Kinabatangan River / Sandakan (Breakfast)
Rise early for another early morning cruise along the Kinabatangan to observe more wildlife and birdlife. Return to resort for breakfast. Check out and depart for your return journey to Sandakan. Drop off at your respective hotel in Sandakan or at the Sandakan Airport for your onwards flight. (B)
