Sepilok Forest Edge Resort comprises of Stylish Malay Design Chalets and a Longhouse around lush green surroundings and hills as a backdrop which further embraces an incredible view.

CHALETS
Each Chalet are built with recycled woods. The wood panels are originally from Chinese houses that was built in the 1940's which you will still see when you are on the way to Sepilok. Depending on which Chalets, the Rooms are inspired by the minimal design of the locals and indoor and outdoor shower, which will bring you back to life's basic necessities. You will first be invited by traditional Malay doors that have a wooden block that slide through both handles as a Lock. Upon entering your room, you will be greeted by Bubuh Lights and Lantern, which are inspired from both the Malay and Chinese culture. Each room are decorated with local drawings, handmade natural art pieces, or pictures of old Sandakan.

The rustic Bathroom are uniquely design with polished cement, Bamboo walls and tap water that flows through a Bamboo. Depending on which Chalet type, there's an outdoor shower and outdoor bathtub with waterfall shower to choose from. You can get as close to showering like the local villager by opening the iron casted windows that dates back to the WWII, which we acquired from the recycled houses.

LABUK B&B
The Longhouse has been design for budget traveller and backpacker in chest of Borneo Living.
​
The Rooms are made up with equipped Bunk Beds and are also divided to Female, Male and Mixed Dorms to suite all travellers. Each Bunk Beds comes with a reading light and a locker with a built in socket to safely charge your devices.
​
We are second to RDC in Sepilok area in terms of birding and other wildlife opportunities. Broadbills, Kingfishers, Pittas and many more are residence here. Orang-utan do drop by to checkout our fruit trees occasionally. This happenings are result of minimum destruction in our development. It's a playground in here

Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization’s (WHO) information regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and is following guidelines from these agencies and the local health department.

Our Commitment to Cleanliness
Sepilok Forest Edge Resort is committed toward ensuring that both hygiene and cleanliness standards are taken seriously. In light of the recent COVID-19 situation, we are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and associates. These steps include additions to our normal daily hygiene and cleanliness standards, as well as our standard practices.

Employee Health, Safety and Awareness
We are supporting our employees through proper hygiene and cleaning standards, with specific emphasis on:

Hand Hygiene - Frequent handwashing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses. Our teams are reminded that cleanliness starts with this simple act to preserve their health and that of our guests. Hand sanitizing stations are strategically placed in various areas of the resort

Face mask - All employees must wear face mask at all times

Ongoing Training - Informing team members about how the virus can spread and exercising vigilance in their day to day practices.

Real-Time Information - As we continually monitor new information from the CDC and WHO websites, we are ensuring that our team takes any appropriate action necessary.
Cleaning Products and Protocols
Our resort uses effective standard operating procedures against viruses in each function area, including:

Guest Rooms - Our resort uses cleaning and disinfecting protocols to sanitize rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items. Highly used, in-room items must be wiped down with a sanitizer solution; including, but not limited to: door handles, both sides of guestroom door, bathroom door, balcony door, telephones, remotes, light switches, A/C control and drawer handles. During this sensitive times, housekeeping service will be suspended.

Public Spaces - Our resort increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces; with a focus on the front desk counter, elevators, elevator buttons, door handles, public bathrooms and room keys. Motion-activated hand sanitizer stations are placed at the front desk, entrance to our restaurant and Longhouse.

Back of House - In the spaces where associates work “behind the scenes”, we are increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas such as: associate entrances, kitchen, hallways, storage areas and staff offices.
Public Facilities

There is a chance that swimming pool will remain closed this season, as it is difficult to guarantee the social distancing rules are maintained in a pool. However, we have added more sun lounging areas which can be sectioned for relaxing and sunbathing purpose.
